"Prayer for the Nations of the World: A Call for Intercessors Worldwide"

Dear Saints!

It is imperative that we follow the command to pray for all who are in authority so that we might lead a peaceable life. It is especially imperative that we do so in these challenging times, not only for our own nation but for all the nations of the world.

As intercessors, we are well aware as Chuck Missler has said that Prayer is the "heavy artillery" of the Kingdom of God. So, my message today is a CALL to international intercession, prayer for one nation at a time.

For you who know that God has called you to intercede in behalf of nations, please step up to the plate. If you want more information, you can email me at mcdonald@cadipspress.com.

This blog will be available to post prayers at any time so that we in this cyber prayer community can join in and pray in agreement about the spiritual and off-shoot plight of nations as needs arise.

As moderator of this online prayer group, I will from time to time post information on the status of nations. The plan is to cover the entire globe, should the Lord tarry.

Pastor Hembree of Quick Study and of Good Friends Fellowship of Canada has presented the challenge. He says that we who are members of the body of Christ should walk out our calling. We are to take the lead in leveraging that which is on God's heart for our various cultures. As such, beginning today with God's guidance, through the awesome power of the Holy Spirit, I invite you to join me on this quest to seek God's face in behalf of the nations of this world and to do so in cyber-space.

If you will register with me, I will prayerfully assign moderator duties in the prayer chamber.

The pivotal verse in the Holy Bible, our final authority on all decisions, is Psalm 2. This is God's take on what is happening in the world. For your convenience, that Psalm is posted here. Psalm 2 reads,

"Why do nations assemble, and peoples plot vain things;
kings of the earth take their stand, and regents intrigue together
against the LORD and against His anointed?
'Let us break the cords of their yoke, shake off their ropes from us!'
He who is enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord mocks at them.
Then He speaks to them in anger, terrifying them in His rage,
'But I have installed My king on Zion, My holy mountain!'
Let me tell of the decree: the LORD said to me,
'You are My son, I have fathered you this day.
Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your domain;
your estate, the limit of the earth.
You can smash them with an iron mace, shatter them like potter's ware.'
So now, O kings, be prudent; accept discipline, you rulers of the earth!
Serve the LORD in awe; tremble with fright,
lest He be angered, and your way be doomed in the mere flash of His anger.
Happy are all who take refuge in Him."
(The Jewish Study Bible)

The whole earth is the LORD's footstool. Therefore, we will take dominion of the earth as He directs by praying in agreement with Almighty God.

I place only one stipulation upon the prayers. The rule is this. You must identify the Scriptural address of your prayers before you begin your prayer. This is to insure that we all really are praying in agreement with the God of the Holy Bible.

Let's begin with a prayer for the United States of America.

The scriptural address of my prayer can be found in Hosea 6:1-3. The passage reads,
"Come, let us return to the LORD.
He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us
He has injured us but he will bind up our wounds.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will restore us, that we may live in His presence.
Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge Him.
As surely as the sun rises, He will appear;
He will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth." ---Hosea 6:1-3

A PRAYER FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your Word, the Holy Bible. Your written Word, LORD GOD, is the only thing on earth that has survived untainted by the Fall of man. We thank You for giving us written instructions for this life.

Thank You for saying in Your Holy Word that if we confess our sins, You are willing to forgive us our sins and separate us from those sins to remember them no more.

Dear LORD, we do not take this forgiveness for granted. And, we understand also that if we, ourselves, harbor any unforgiveness in our lives, we will not be forgiven by You. Therefore, we not only confess our known sins to You at this time, but ask that you receive our repentant hearts for the unforgiveness we have had. And, as an act of will in the power of Your Holy Spirit, we now forgive all persons that have ever caused offence to us.

LORD, we also forgive ourselves. May we be quick to release all our personal enemies and ourselves to your loving care in the future.

May You grant us Your ability to show love to all, including those who seemingly are unlovable. We have failed miserably when we have tried to forgive relying on our own flesh in coping with past offences. We commit all offences we have experienced individually and then corporately as the Body of Christ.

We thank you Father for now releasing us from the prison of unforgiveness in the name of Christ Jesus.

We now ask that You, LORD GOD, hear our prayer for our nation, the United States of America and the Church therein.

Dear Lord,
Forgive us individually and collectively here in the United States for our insular view of the world. We have exercised an abominable spirit of complacency in the midst of world plight and religious persecution suffered by Christians. We have lived in our paneled houses while others have had no shelter. We have allowed alien gods cloaked in rhetoric to lure us away from You, the One True Living God, Lord Jesus!

Please forgive us for the sins of spiritual adultery and our idolatry.

Please restore us to our right mind as a nation.

Please give us each a hunger for your Word and value for the Rule of Law.

Please forgive us for our prayerlessness and sloth leading to our failure to protect those values articulated by Your Ten Commandments.

Wake us up from our drunken stupor of secular humanism, Dear Lord.

Please forgive us for our tolerance of falsehood, our tolerance of inverted descriptions of reality so prevalently offered in the media.

Please forgive us for not standing in truth with Israel, the nation that You call the "Apple of Your Eye," Lord.

In rightly acknowledging You, LORD GOD, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem recognizing the You, Christ Jesus, are the Peace for Jerusalem. Protect that nation for the day that they cry out, "Blessed is He Who Comes in the Name of the LORD."

Grant our officials God-honoring discernment, Lord, and give God-fearing wisdom to all who are in authority.

Please draw us all to Yourself, Christ Jesus.

Almighty God,You really have "torn us to pieces." Please heal us now, for your name sake. You really have "injured us." Please bind up our wounds.
Please revive us and restore us so that we may live in Your presence, again.

We have played the harlot, as a nation and as the Church.

Please forgive us, members of the Bride of Christ, and wash us with the cleansing blood of Your Son, Christ Jesus.

Place a right spirit within us as a nation so that we will be a people of integrity, let there be no difference between what we say and what we do as individuals and collectively as a nation. Let our "Yes" be Yes, and our "No" be No with no mixed signals that typify political expediency.

Let us not give reason for Your enemies to blaspheme Your Name, LORD.

Yes, LORD, please prepare us to be a bride without spot or blemish.

Bring each of us back to our true selves, to be the people you designed us to be before the foundation of the earth. Do this so that Your Son will not be unequally yoked.

We acknowledge You, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, You who are made manifest in Your Son, Christ Jesus.

It is in the name of Christ Jesus and for His sake we pray.

Amen!
