Bowing Down? Completely Unacceptable.... See J. Michael Sharman's Post, "Will Obama Bow to Sharia Law?"

Dear Saints,

Bowing Down Is Completely Unacceptable!
Yes, I said it.

I invite you to read J. Michael's post below and then prayerfully consider the following:

"And God spake all these words, saying, 'I AM The Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before Me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them; for I The Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me. And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love Me, and keep My Commandments.'"Exodus 20: 1-6

"Will Obama Bow Down to Sharia Law?"
by J. Michael Sharman, Contributing Writer

“In a shocking display of fealty to a foreign potentate,” The Washington Times editorialized, “President Obama bowed to Saudi King Abdullah at the Group of 20 summit in London ... [and] why he chose to bow only to the Saudi King and not to any other royals remains unexplained.”

President Obama indeed gave a deep bow, with the videos of it clearly showing that our president bent low as the waist, head lowered, with one hand at his side, and his right hand extended for King Abdullah to accept. The king, of course, remained rigidly erect, as one would expect a monarch to do who is receiving obeisance from a subject.

The Arab world certainly recognized Mr. Obama’s gesture as a bow. Muhammah Diyab, a columnist for the Saudi-backed Arabic paper Asharq Alawsat wrote approvingly: “Obama wished to demonstrate his respect and appreciation of the personality of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz…”

Ever since our nation’s beginning, it has been the official State Department protocol that the United States president bows to no other head of state. Indeed, it has been a part of our national culture that no American citizen, elected or otherwise, ever bows to a foreign king or queen. “One does not bow or curtsy to a foreign monarch because the gesture symbolizes recognition of her power over her subjects,” Judith Martin explains in her book “Miss Manners' guide for the turn-of-the-millennium.”

Apparently, Mr. Obama’s foreign policy advisers either never told him about that protocol or they advised him to violate it.

President Obama’s nomination of Harold Hongju Koh to be the State Department’s top lawyer for the State Department suggests we may see many more such changes in our protocol.

Koh aligns himself with the “Transnationalists.” Koh states: “The Transnationalists believe that U.S. courts can and should use their interpretive power to promote the development of a global legal system.”

A 2003 Stanford Law Review article Koh wrote says that national sovereignty does not mean that a nation, such as the United States, has the right to act as it chooses within its own borders, rather, in Koh’s view, sovereignty simply establishes “a nation’s capacity to participate in international affairs.” We can’t do it on our own, he says: “the only way most states can realize and express their sovereignty is through participation in the various regimes that regulate and order the international system.”

The United Nations is obviously one of those regulatory regimes, but then, to many Islamic persons, so is Sharia law, which declares the Koran to be the law of the land.

The New York Times reported that on April 18, 2009 the Parliament in the pirate state of Somalia voted unanimously to adopt Sharia law. Pakistan also just voted to impose Sharia law in seven districts of its North West Frontier Province.

President Karzai of Afghanistan recently re-imposed portions of Sharia law on Afghani women, which, among other things, makes it illegal for them to leave their home without their husband’s consent.

In King Abdullah’s Saudi Arabian kingdom, a judge on April 11th used Sharia law to refuse, for the second time, to annul a marriage between an 8-year-old girl and a 47-year-old man.

Christine Flowers of the Philadephia Daily News claims that: “President Obama's nominee for top legal dog at the State Department, Harold Koh, believes that Islamic sharia law could be applied in American jurisdictions in ‘appropriate cases.’”

It might seem incredible that Obama’s advisers would suggest that the U.S. yield to Sharia law in any matter at all, but then, until recently it would have seemed incredible that an American president would bow before the king of Saudi Arabia, the “guardian of Mecca and Medina, the birthplace of the Prophet Muhammad and of the Islamic faith.”

A POSTSCRIPT from me, Saints!
Taking on a slightly lighter note, here is something to consider.
There exist some who see the United States as "BABY Huey,"--- simply big, consumptuous, out of place. But, as the animated cartoon below figuratively depicts, that "BABY Huey" could be the only [earthly] force strong enough to say "No" for the betterment of all. Of course, that strength can only be exercised if "BABY Huey" does not bow down to the wishes of those who want to redefine him out of existence.
'Nuff said.
Have fun with this short cartoon classic.
And, have a Great Day!
