Governance by the Book... And, Psalm 73, the Holy Bible

YOU NEED the HOLY BIBLE! The HOLY BIBLE, ALONE! Accept NO SUBSTITUTES, NO COUNTERFEITS, NO TRADITIONS of MEN, NOR CULTS---A "Cult" is any religious group or entity that denies the Diety of Christ Jesus!

Saving faith in our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST enables faithful adherence to GOD'S WORD, the HOLY BIBLE. JESUS CHRIST is the only way to LIFE as GOD has rightly ordained for each of us. The entire HOLY BIBLE, Old and New Testaments, is about Christ Jesus, the Messiah of Israel.

And,please know this: GOD's WORD, the HOLY BIBLE, is the only plumb line given by which our nation may be governed effectively! --Livvy McDonald :)<><

First, let's prayerfully consider Psalm 73 of the Holy Bible. After reading that rather long passage, we will then turn our attention to Governance by the Book. The Psalmist says,

"Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.

But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.

For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong.

They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills.

Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.

From their callous hearts comes iniquity; the evil conceits of their minds kow no limits.

They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression.

Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth.

Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance.

They say, 'How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?'

*

This is what the wicked are like---always carefree, they increase in wealth.

Surely in vain have I kept my heart pure; in vain have I washed my hands in innocence.

All day long I have been plagued; I have been punished every morning.

If I had said, 'I will speak thus,' I would have betrayed your children.

When I tried to understand all this, it was oppressive to me till I entered the sanctuary of God; then I understood their final destiny.

*

Surely You place them on slippery ground; You cast them down to ruin.

How suddenly are they destroyed, completely swept away by terrors!

As a dream when one awakes so when You arise, O Lord, You will despise them as fantasies.

When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant, I was a brute beast before You.

Yet I am always with You; You hold me by my right hand.

You guide me with Your counsel, and aftward You will take me into glory.

Whom have I in heaven but You?

And earth has nothing I desire besides You.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Those who are far from You will perish; You destroy all who are unfaithful to You.

But as for me, it is good to be near God.

I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all Your deeds."
AMEN!

GOVERNANCE BY THE BOOK...

If you are in a position of governance and you have sincerely accepted Christ Jesus as your LORD (Master) and Savior, then you need to seek His guidance over and above the guidance of men. You can receive that guidance, if you are saved, by sincerely praying to God in the name of Jesus Christ of the HOLY BIBLE and [no counterfeit christ please]. You must ask for the wisdom to govern according the God's standards. If you are not saved, you need to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. That is the only conversation currently that God is interested in having with you.

Once saved, you now must begin a walk of right relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You must seek understanding from Him and find fellowship with Bible Believing Christians. You are to read dilligently the Word of God, the Holy Bible, not the Holy Bible plus other books, but the Holy Bible and ask God to show you what to do. You can confirm the direction you are to make based upon continual reading of the Holy Bible.

You are to test all ideas, suggestions, etc. made by anybody on the basis of what the Holy Bible says. Unless you can confirm the biblical basis of the idea, policy recommendation, etc. on the basis of the Holy Bible, it is not the right option. As the first standard, make sure your decisions in governance do not violate any of the Ten Commandments. And, by the way, make sure you understand what those Ten Commandments actually say. The most violated notion is that of the Commandment that presumably reads, "Thou Shall Not Kill." Folks think that the commandment is a prohibition against "capital punishment." This is a case of inappropriate translation. The commandment says, "Thou Shall Not Murder." This commandment speaks a prohibition against murderous activity on the part of individuals and has nothing to do with the execution of persons on the part of government to protect the population over which God has given officials appropriate authority.

If you are in the United States, in a position of governance, you have an added advantage because the very Constitutional laws upon which this nation was built rest upon right understanding and application of the Holy Bible. That is why the U.S. Constitution must be preserved. It is based upon the only foundation that values the life and liberty and the protection of that which is gained by the exercise of God-given talents for the individual and the nation.

I will be presenting a series on this idea of governance over the next few days.
For now, may the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the One Who is Manifest as Christ Jesus, Our Lord, give you understanding and right associations who with you will eagerly pursue the goals and actions that honor Him.

ONE NATION UNDER GOD!
AMEN!
