Restore Us Again, O God Our Savior

The Psalmist prayed in Psalm 85,

"You showed favor to Your land, O LORD; You restored the fortunes of Jacob.

You forgave the iniquity of Your people and covered all their sins. Selah.

You set aside all Your wrath and turned from Your fierce anger.

Restore us again, O God our Savior, and put away Your displeasure toward us.

Will You be angry with us forever?

Will You prolong Your anger through all generations?

Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?

Show us Your unfailing love, O LORD, and grant us Your salvation.

*

I will listen to what God the LORD will say; He promises peace to His people, His saints--but let them not return to folly.

Surely His salvation is near those who fear Him, that His glory may dwell in our land.

Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.

Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.

The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield it harvest.

Righteousness goes before Him and prepares the way of His steps."

AMEN!

My Postscript

The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians 3:6-18, "In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, nor did we eat anyone's food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to follow. For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." We hear that some among you are idle. They are not busy; they are busybodies. Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the bread they eat. And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right. If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of him. Do not associate with him, in order that he may feel ashamed. Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but warn him as a brother. Now may the Lord or peace himself ive you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. I, Paul write this greeting in my own hand, whichisthe distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write. The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all."

Proverbs 25:16 says, "If you find honey, eat just enough---too much of it, and you will vomit."
AMEN!

P.S. In challenging economic times, remember that the barter of services is a viable economic mode of exchange and can be a good substitute for currency as a means of payment. Your church family, itself, can become a rather "self-contained" micro-economic system. Pray! God can give you wisdom for this. And, don't lose track of the fact that the dollar is simply a promissory note, a piece of paper that makes more convenient the tracking of exchange. As a promissory note, the dollar should denote value associated with effort put forth either in the production of a commodity or the use of time [one's life] in accomplishing something deemed to have worth. That tracking is terribly "off kilter" these days.
So, Saints! Let's be good stewards of ourselves.
Amen!

Hey! I may just do a bible-based series on traversing hard economic times.
I will pray about this.
A possible title:"Light in Goshen! God's Way Through Hard Times"

Dear Lord,
Please show us Your Way through these challenging times,
the Way that honors and glorifies You, Lord God.
In Christ Jesus we pray.
Amen!
