Saints!

Please pass news of this event on to your respective Congregations! IAST wants us to join them as their guest speaker, Dr. Michael A. Smith, addresses trauma informed services to survivors of human trafficking. Dr. Smith's primary area of clinical work for his doctorate focused on sex offenders and sexual trauma. He joined the Salvation Army's fight against human trafficking in 2005, heading up a national capacity building project funded by the Department of Justice. He has written curriculum on how to identify and serve victims of trafficking. His most recent research has been in how to address sexual trauma in human trafficking survivors. He leads a Portland, Oregon community steering committee on how to best design shelter services for traumatized domestic sex trafficking youth.
