Boyle-ing Over ---What's On the Inside and Invisible Counts...

Dear Saints,

I would not normally choose to post what I am presenting today.

However, I believe there is a message to be gained beyond the obvious sensationalism of "talent" as the world sees it.

The following will be especially meaningful if you have actually read Les Miserables perhaps in high school or even saw earlier versions of Les Miserables as a screenplay or older movie.

The original story was written by Victor Hugo. There is a Biblically sound theme to the story as originally told. I will not give the plot away here. If you are interested in reading this classic work, I suggest you visit your local library or bookstore.

Anyway, back to why I am writing you today. I just viewed 47 year old, Swedish born, Susan Boyle's performance of one of the songs from the musical version of Les Miserables.

Warning. Miss Boyle's brief conversation prior to performance is decidedly worldly as she ventures to surprise stardom.

Nonetheless, laying all of that fluff aside for a moment, you may want to hear her voice, a voice that took everybody by surprise.

Folks, Even bigger than the surprise of Susan Boyles' voice when contrasted with the physical package the voice is wrapped in, is the big difference between what God sees when He looks at each of us in contrast to what man sees.

Scripture reminds us that man looks at the outside, but God looks at the heart.
It takes heart to do what one is called to do.[1Samuel 16:7]

I offer this example for your encouragement as "God really does take the foolish things of this life to confound the wise." [1 Corinthians 1:27]
