Once in David's Royal City....

Written by Mrs. C.F. Alexander ( 1818 - 1895),here are the words, Y'all:

"Once in royal David's city,
Stood a lowly cattle shed,
Where a mother laid her baby
In a manger for His bed:
Mary was that mother mild,
Jesus Christ her little child.

He came down to earth from heaven,
Who is God and Lord of all,
And His shelter was a stable,
And His cradle was a stall;
With the poor and meek and lowly,
Lived on earth our Savior holy.

And through all
His wondrous childhood,
He would honor and obey,
Love and watch the lowly mother,
In whose gentle arms He lay.
Christian children all should be,
Mild, obedient, good as He.

For He is our child-hood's pattern,
Day by day like us He grew,
He was little, weak, and helpless,
Tears and smiles like us He knew,
And He feeleth for our sadness,
And He shareth in our gladness.

And our eyes at last shall see Him,
Through His own redeeming love;
For that child so dear and gentle,
Is our Lord in heaven above,
And He leads His children on,
To the place where He is gone.

Not in that poor lowly stable,
With the oxen standing by,
We shall see Him, but in heaven,
Set at God's right hand on high;
When like stars
His children crowned,
All in white shall be around."

No longer a baby, KING Jesus,the Christ, prepares a place for us.
While we await departure, we are charged with stewardship of all
He has placed at our disposal.

Today we pray for the Military, Saints!
You know what is at stake for our nation and for our military chaplains!
Let's petition God in behalf of our troops.

Also, we are entering into the season of the feast of Dedication, an
observance that even Christ Jesus attended on this earth. This Holy-day
season is refered to as Channukah. Let's rededicate ourselves to God
by obedience to His Written Word and while doing so, let's commit to
prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem,for Israel's deliverance through receiving
Christ Jesus as Messiah.

Finally, this "Christ Mass" season, I, perhaps like you, must be even more vigilant over my soul. [The strained economy is helping me quite a bit in this area--thankfully]. The message to be reminded of appears in 1John 2:15-17,

"Do not love the world system of things or any of the possessions that are available in the world. If anyone loves that which the world cherishes, love for the Father is not in them. Because all of that stuff, all of those paths, patterns of manuevering, props for pretense that characterize the world: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from falleness of the world. The world and all of its accessories will pass away, fading into nothingness,the farcical illusion that it is; but, whoever does the will of God, having accepted His free offer of Salvation, escapes that destruction by attaining REAL life in Christ Jesus forever." 1 John 2:15-17, Holy Bible [LV = Livvy Version]

AMEN!
Get Ready, Y'all!
